Kino London kicks-off 2012 with not one, but two screening events, and a week of filmmaking in between. All in partnership with London Short Film Festival.

On the eve of LSFF 2012 Kino London will hold its regular, monthly open-mic short film night at Vibe Live. But not only do Kino screen new shorts, they also encourage (and facilitate) production of them. Each month Kino issues a challenge to filmmakers who attend the event – produce a short in the month that follows and screen it at the next event. Simple. Except… the audience will decide what that film will be!

At Kino's 5th January event a whole screening’s worth of film challenges will be issued – fiction, music video, documentary – the lot . Anyone attending the screening can take part, and a production meeting will be held at 1pm on Saturday 7th January to get everyone started. This meeting is open to everyone – filmmakers, actors, musicians, runners – the whole shebang. Those unable to attend the January 5th screening are still welcome to attend the meeting and get involved.

Exactly one week later, on January 12th, Kino returns to Vibe Live to screen the results of the week-long filmmaking challenge.
